A WOMAN who refused to leave the Borders General Hospital after being discharged and ended up assaulting police officers has been ordered to be of good behaviour for the next nine months.
Stephanie Muir, 30, of Howdenbank, Hawick, pleaded guilty to threatening or abusive behaviour in the casualty department in December of last year and then assaulting two police officers.
Selkirk Sheriff Court was told that Muir had been discharged earlier in the morning but said she did not want to leave.

Members of staff tried to get her to leave but she continued to refuse to do so.
Procurator fiscal Fraser Matheson said that several hours later, around midday, she was still there and police officers were summoned 20 minutes later.
He explained: "Two police officers tried to get her to leave and she gave no particular reason why she wouldn't leave.
"She reacted inappropriately saying get the f*** out of the room, just f*****g leave me alone.
"Ultimately by that point the police had no choice but to arrest her but as they went on she assaulted the constables."

Defence lawyer Ed Hulme said his client suffered a number of physical and mental health difficulties.
Sheriff Peter Paterson warned Muir that misbehaving in a hospital setting particularly at this time was a serious matter.
He added: "When hospital staff tell you to do something you have no choice."
Sentence was deferred until September 6 next year.
