MORE than 100 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the Borders since Friday (January 8).
According to data released today (Monday, January 11) by the Scottish Government, a total of 120 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Borders over the weekend.
On Friday, a total of 2,101 cases had been recorded in the region since March – but now the figure stands at 2,221.

There are currently 40 people in hospital in the Borders with the virus, and seven people in the intensive care unit (ICU).
The weekend saw the first time since April that the Borders had registered five or more patients in the ICU.
Nationally there have been 151,548 cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began, and there are currently 1,664 people in hospital.
