A MAN who stole more than £900 worth of alcohol from a Borders hotel has been given a night-time curfew for the next seven months.
Dell Geraghty, 24, pleaded guilty to the theft from a lockfast place at Innerleithen’s Traquair Arms Hotel during the early hours of December 9, 2019.
A previous hearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court was told how Geraghty was observed on CCTV intoxicated and stumbling around after forcing his way into the hotel.
He selected a number of bottles of whisky which came to the value of £920.90, none of which was recovered.
Geraghty was ordered to stay within his home in James Hogg Court in Innerleithen between the hours of 7pm and 7.30am and was also ordered to pay £200 compensation to the hotel, to be paid at the rate of £30 a month.
