BORDERS police have announced they accidentally described a local GP as a bogus caller, following the doctor's attempt to administer a coronavirus vaccination.
Officers issued a warning earlier today (Friday, January 15) saying an elderly woman had been targeted by a bogus caller in Kelso.
But police have now discovered the visitor was a doctor.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "[An] update on our Bogus COVID Vaccination post [on Facebook].
"Turns out [it] was a local GP visiting a housebound patient to offer a vaccination and they had been unsuccessful in making contact by phone.
"This is likely to be one of the few situations where NHS will attend at a house to vaccinate – however they will always call ahead."
