AN INTERACTIVE map shows which areas of the Borders have been worst affected by coronavirus in recent days.

The Public Health Scotland tool shows the number of new cases per 100,000 population, over a seven-day period.

The Borders figures are broken down into 30 neighbourhoods.

And in the most recent seven-day period (January 20 – January 26), they show that Hawick West End continues to see the highest rate of cases.

The area saw 13 cases recorded in the week – a rate of 394.1 per 100,000 population.

There are two further communities which have a rate of between 200 to 399 cases.

They are Hawick Central (16 cases; rate of 378.3) and Burnfoot (seven cases; rate of 234.8).

At the other end of the scale, a total of 16 areas recorded between zero and two cases over the seven-day period.

They include Tweeddale East; Peebles South; Peebles North; Lauder; Langlee; Kelso South; Kelso North; Galashiels West; Ettrick Yarrow and Lilliesleaf; Duns; Denholm and Hermitage; Coldstream; Chirnside; Cheviot West; Cheviot East; and Berwickshire Central.
