THE Borders has recorded two new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
According to data from the Scottish Government released today (Wednesday, February 24) at 2pm, the region's total number of cases since March last year is now 2,793.
The number of people in the Borders in hospital with COVID-19 has increased by one, the new data shows, bringing the current total to eight.
Across Scotland a further 798 people have tested positive for coronavirus over the past 24 hours, with the total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic almost reaching 200,000, at 199,637.
Nationally, there are 1,018 people in hospital with the virus.
