A CARE home in the Borders has recorded cases of coronavirus in the past week.

Lennel House Care Home, Coldstream, has experienced a "limited outbreak" of COVID-19, according to operator St Philips Care.

The company's CEO, Paul Farmer, said: "We are able to confirm a limited outbreak of COVID-19 at Lennel Care Centre.

"The staff who are being supported with additional resources are working tirelessly to support their residents at a time which is extremely stressful for everyone involved.

"We work very closely with the Scottish Borders Health & Social Care Partnership (SBC and NHS Borders) who has supported us to ensure every precaution is taken to protect our residents.

"The vaccine was made available to the home in December, so we hope that those affected continue to show only mild symptoms."

Public Health Scotland data shows that the Coldstream area recorded 15 new cases between February 13 and 19.
