THE Borders has recorded one new case of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
According to Scottish Government data released today (Friday, March 19) at 2pm, the total number of COVID-19 cases since March 2020 now stands at 2,857. The number of people in hospital in the Borders with the virus also remains at fewer than five for the third consecutive week (22 days in a row).
Nationally, 212,509 people have tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began last year.
And across Scotland 397 people are in hospital – a reduction of eight patients from yesterday (March 18).
