TRIBUTES have been paid to a Borders teenager who died while kayaking this week.

Ellice Murray, 15, from Kelso, was with her dad and brother when she got into difficulty in the River Tweed on Monday (March 22).

Specialist rescue teams were called to the scene close to Trows Farm, near Kelso.

Her body was recovered from the water a short time later.

Flowers have been placed outside the café owned by Ellice's family in Kelso.

ITV Border reports that a notice on the door of the business says it will be closed for the time being and that the incident has left the family "all feeling a little numb".
