A BORDERS man burst into a former friend's home and assaulted him, Jedburgh Sheriff Court has been told.
Jason Hook, 51, of Hawick, pleaded guilty to seizing the other man by the neck on March 1 and pushing him against a wall.
The man’s wife phoned the police on her mobile but Hook grabbed hold of it and stood on it, causing it to smash, but the altercation was still heard by call handlers.
Defence lawyer Colin Severin admitted "bad blood" had developed between the former friends.
Sentence was deferred until September 27 with Sheriff Peter Paterson indicating that if Hook was of good behaviour a fine and compensation would be imposed.
