A PENSIONER has admitted a charge of causing death by careless driving following a road incident in the Borders last year.
Keith Atkinson, 68, from Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened on the A72 near Innerleithen on March 1, 2020.
After the four-vehicle incident, great-grandmother Annie Notman, 82, from Biggar, was airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where she died of her injuries the following day.
Sentence was deferred at Selkirk Sheriff Court until May 18 for the production of background reports and Atkinson was made the subject of an interim disqualification from driving until that date.
