A TEENAGER found in possession of drugs with a value of £4,300 has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work at a Borders court.

Jack Dawkins pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis in Peebles last year.

Defence lawyer Ross Dow told Selkirk Sheriff Court the value of drugs had erroneously been put at £12,000 so the revised figure was significantly different.

He added that since the offence, the 19-year-old had removed himself from the area and was now living in Hull.

Dawkins was given a 15-month Community Payback Order with 100 hours of unpaid work as a direct alternative to custody.
