THE number of positive coronavirus cases in the Borders has risen over the last 24 hours.
According to data released today (Friday, July 2) by the Scottish Government, the number of cases rose by 45 between July 1 and today.
Yesterday, the region recorded 3,612 positive cases – this figure now stands at 3,657.
However, there still remain fewer than five people in the Borders in hospital with the virus.
Nationally, there has been an increase of 3,823 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases in Scotland to 289,279.
There are also 285 people across Scotland who are in hospital with COVID-19.
