AN INTERACTIVE map shows the Borders neighbourhoods which have recorded the highest coronavirus case rates over seven days.

The map, created by Public Health Scotland, highlights data collected between June 23-29.

According to the map, five Borders areas have recorded positive coronavirus case rates within the highest brack (400 cases per 100,000 of the population) within this seven-day period.

The areas which recorded case rates of more than 400 per 100,000 include: Burnfoot (403); Eyemouth (429); Galashiels West (636); Hawick North (508); and Hawick West End (455).

Out of the 30 areas in the Borders, 14 recorded case rates of 200-399 cases per 100,000, these included: Berwickshire East (347); Chirnside and Area (253); Coldstream and Area (255); Duns (323); Earlston, Stow and Clovenfords Area (219); Galashiels North (266); Galashiels South (210); Hawick Central (378); Jedburgh (288); Kelso North (341); Melrose and Tweedbank Area (259); Peebles South (210); Selkirk (399); and Tweeddale West Area (259).

Berwickshire Central, Langlee and Tweeddale East Area all recorded seven-day case rates of 100-199 per 100,000, and Peebles North recorded a case rate of 93 per 100,000.

The remaining seven areas in the Borders – Cheviot East; Cheviot West; Denholm and Hermitage; Ettrick, Yarrow and Lilliesleaf Area; Kelso South; Lauder and Area; and St Boswells and Newtown Area – all recorded between zero and two positive coronavirus cases between June 23-29, meaning their case rates were "not shown to help patient confidentiality," according to Public Health Scotland.
