FINES of £200 have been imposed on a 25-year-old man who was involved in a bust-up with his former partner.
Sean Keene pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour at Eildon View in Melrose on June 30 and obstructing police officers and trying to run away from them.
Selkirk Sheriff Court that a six-year "volatile relationship" with his partner had just ended a fortnight earlier.
But when the woman came to the house with her step father Keene reacted angrily and began shouting at her before shutting the door in her face.
Police were called and they observed Keene in a "highly agitated state" as he ran back into the house and then ran into a garden to try and evade the officers.
When interviewed by police Keene replied: "She left me on Friday. She is tearing my life apart. I just shouted at her because I was upset.
"I just wanted to see my kids."
Keene was fined £100 on each of the two charges with a £10 Victim Surcharge also imposed.
