A NEW hardware store has opened on a High Street in the Borders.

Hardware Masters on Jedburgh High Street was renovated by owners Murtaza and Yasmeen during the pandemic and is now welcoming customers through its doors.

The shop will sell tools, homeware, kitchenware, DIY, wool, stationary, toys, party items, gifts, cards, electrical and plumbing accessories, vape liquid, vape machines, and more, as well as having a pet section.

Murtaza and Yasmeen said: “We are excited to launch this family business on the Jedburgh High Street and are looking forward to welcoming people into the store. We are glad to be able to serve our community in some way.”

The shop was formally opened on Saturday (July 10) by John Lamont, MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk.

Mr Lamont, of the Conservatives, said: “I am a real champion for local businesses across the Borders and I am thrilled to see a new addition to the Jedburgh High Street.

“Opening Hardware Masters was a real privilege and I was so pleased to see so many local residents attend the opening and support a new independent business.

“I wish Murtaza and Yasmeen all the best with their new venture and encourage anyone in the area to pop in and support them."
