A MAN has been taken to hospital with “multiple stab wounds” following an alleged disturbance in the Borders, say police.

Officers were called to Cademuir Drive, Peebles, at around 9.45pm last night (Thursday, July 15).

A 25-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition is described as “stable”.

Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45pm on Thursday, July 15, police were called to a report of a disturbance in Cademuir Drive, Peebles.

“Emergency services attended and a 25-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he is currently being treated for multiple stab wounds.

"Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

“A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing.”
