Police Scotland are seeking the public’s views to help shape their Gaelic Language Plan 2021-26.
The draft Plan was prepared within the framework of the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005, and it sets out to support the National Gaelic Language Plan’s overarching aim that “Gaelic is used more often, by more people and in a wider range of situations”.
Police say that your opinions will help them to shape and validate their approach and make sure that their Plan fits with expectations.
The Plan sets out for comment on the force’s proposed commitments in support of the National Gaelic Language Plan to: Increase the use of Gaelic, Increase the learning of Gaelic and promote a positive image of Gaelic.
The survey will remain open until 5 Sept 2021 and take no longer than 8 minutes to complete.
The survey is also available in a version that is easier to read and in Gaelic.
Responses are anonymous and those taking part will not be identified through the information they provide unless they choose to identify themselves in their responses.
All questions are optional meaning participants can chose to answer all, some or none of them.
The survey is available via the Police Scotland website.
