THE Borders has recorded 36 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
According to Scottish Government data released at 2pm today (August 5), the new virus cases were reported in the region over a 24-hour period.
The latest data shows that since the start of the pandemic the Borders has reported 4,524 cases of coronavirus.

There remain fewer than five people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed cases of the virus, according to the latest update.
Since March 2020 Scotland has recorded 350,667 cases of COVID-19.
And nationally there are currently 381 people in hospital with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus.
