AN INTERACTIVE Borders map shows the locations of new cases of coronavirus in the region.

The Borders is split into 30 neighbourhoods on the Public Health Scotland tool.

The map displays data from the period August 4-10.

According to the map, Hawick Central recorded the highest seven-day rate per 100,000 of 260 during that period.

Langlee recorded a case rate of 371.4, Burnfoot had a rate of 234.8, Coldstream and Area had a rate of 218.3, Kelso North reported a rate of 217.1, Duns had a rate of 215.3, Hawick West End had a seven-day case rate of 212.2 and Hawick North recorded a rate of 209.1 per 100,000.

Berwickshire East, Cheviot West, Chirnside and Area, Denholm and Hermitage, Earlston Stow and Clovenfords Area, Eyemouth, Galashiels North, Galashiels South, Jedburgh, Peebles South, Selkirk, St Boswells and Newtown Area and Tweeddale East Area all recorded case rates of 100-199 per 100,000 of the population.

Berwickshire Central, Lauder and Area and Peebles North recorded case rates of 50-99.

Tweeddale West Area was the only part of the Borders during this period to record a case rate of 1-49 per 100,000.

Meanwhile, five areas – including Cheviot East, Ettrick Yarrow and Lilliesleaf Area, Galashiels West, Kelso South and Melrose and Tweedbank Area – recorded fewer than three cases during the seven-day period, according to the data.
