A PENSIONER from Chirnside who admitted a stalking offence towards a female neighbour by making sexual gestures towards her and repeatedly exposing himself in front of her over a period of several years will be sentenced next month.

Seventy-four-year-old Jan Wojtowicz pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct which caused fear and alarm at his home in the Berwickshire village's Croftfield between October 2014 and March earlier this year.

A not guilty plea to stalking another woman was accepted by the Crown at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Two other charges involving indecent exposure were also dropped.

Sheriff Gordon Liddle ordered background reports to be prepared and made Wojtowicz subect to the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.

Sentence was deferred until October 18.
