“ESSENTIAL roadworks” set to go ahead this week in two Borders towns will impact bus services, according to officials.
Work on Melrose Road, Galashiels, at the junction with Langshaw Road will affect services 60 and 61, says a Borders Buses spokesperson.
Due to the roadworks – from 6pm-1am tonight (September 14), Wednesday and Thursday – the services will divert and operate via Winston Road, Tweed Road and Kingsknowe roundabout for the BGH/Melrose and Earlston.

Meanwhile, services 67, 68 and X95 will be impacted on Thursday and Friday this week. Work will go ahead between 6pm-1am on Abbotsford Road at the junction with Hill Street.
The services will divert via Church Street, Scott Street and St John Street inbound, and via Huddersfield Street, Hill Street, Croft Street and Douglas Place outbound.
Delays are expected, says the spokesperson.
Elsewhere in the Borders, essential roadworks are set to take place on Howegate, Hawick, between 7.30am-5pm on Saturday.
“Service H2 will operate from High Street via Towerknowe, Slitrig Crescent and Kirk Wynd during this closure,” said the spokesperson.
