THE Borders has recorded more than 70 new cases of coronavirus in the last 48 hours, according to the latest figures.
The Scottish Government published updated statistics on cases at 2pm today (September 17).
Due to a technical error yesterday (September 16) no data was published.
And the new figures show the Borders saw 79 new cases of COVID-19 over the past two days.
This brings the total number of cases in the region since the start of the pandemic to 6,955.
There are currently 24 people in hospital in the region with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus.
Since March last year, Scotland has now 523,095 cases, according to the figures.
