BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a Borders man who was involved in a bust-up with his partner and then police officers.
Nineteen-year-old Declan Douglas, of Hawick, was the subject of a court order not to contact the woman but he was in her company on December 21 at a house in Kenilworth Avenue, Galashiels, where he was shouting at her.
Selkirk Sheriff Court was told that en-route from the Borders to St Leonards Police Station in Edinburgh, Douglas was shouting and swearing and repeatedly striking his head against the interior of the police vehicle.
He was spitting and vomiting and threatened to urinate in the van while making offensive remarks.
Sheriff Peter Paterson deferred sentence until October 18 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment.
