THE SELKIRK Foodbank has been selected to take part in the Tesco Community Grant Scheme with the chance to win £1,500.
Customers at the Galashiels store who make a purchase of any value will be given one token per transaction.
They will then get to choose between three different local projects.
The project that gets the most votes will receive £1,500, the second placed will receive £1,000 and third £500.
The Foodbank’s aim is to alleviate food poverty by collecting donated food from various locations and distributing it to clients referred to it.
They are in competition with the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Stow Primary School.
The scheme started on Friday 1 October and runs until 31 December 2021.
