THE Borders recorded more than 170 new cases of coronavirus over the weekend, figures show.
According to Scottish Government data released at 2pm today (Monday, October 18) since Friday (October 15) the number of positive cases in the Borders rose by 176 from 8,247 to 8,423.
The number of people in hospital in the Borders with confirmed COVID-19 currently stands at seven – this figure also stood at seven on Friday.

Since March 2020 Scotland has recorded 609,959 cases of COVID-19.
And nationally there are currently 857 people in hospital with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus.
