BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a Borders motorist who admitted his fourth offence for driving without insurance.

Twenty-two-year-old Ryan Hogg, of Lilliesleaf, also admitted careless driving on the B6400 Ancrum to Nisbet road by driving at excessive speed and going onto the other side of the road and forcing a police vehicle to brake suddenly on May 13 last year.

Hogg, of Hislops Row, pleaded guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing.
