But a number of roads in the region are still affected by flooding.
The routes impacted include the B712 Stobo/Dawyck; the B709 Granites, Innerleithen; the A701 between B7059 West Linton junction and Leadburn; the B7009 Thirlestane, Ettrick Valley; the B7062 Kailzie; and the B6405 Hassendean.

An SBC spokesperson added: “Other routes may also be affected, and many routes will also have significant standing water.”
Meanwhile, the council announced yesterday night that the evacuation of residents had ceased following the declaration of a ‘major incident’.
The River Teviot reached peak levels at 7.30pm last night and the levels are now beginning to “recede steadily”, according to the spokesperson.
A maximum river level of 2.9m was reached, they added.
