MISTY'S Brow Specialist in the Galashiels Interchange has won the ‘Best Brow Technician’ category in this year’s Scotland’s Business Awards Ceremony.

The rescheduled 2020 Grand Final was their largest ever awards night and around 700 finalists and guests, from all over Scotland, attended the event at the Double Tree by Hilton in Glasgow.

The awards were hosted by Scott Somerville who has spent the last seven years visiting businesses all over Scotland as part of the process which has taken place annually throughout the country

Businesses were initially nominated by the public before being visited by judges who spoke to owners and managers personally in their place of work before the winners were selected.

Misty’s Owner Misty Crew told the Border Telegraph: “I’m absolutely delighted, I didn’t expect to win. There are so many people doing eyebrows in the country it’s a big honour.

“The business has been operating for eight years. I used to have premises in Bank Street before moving to the Interchange two years ago.

“I won the Borders award in 2019 after being nominated by clients which made it even more special and that put me into the Scottish Awards for 2020 which were postponed due to Covid-19.

“The awards ceremony finally took place last Sunday (24 October 2021) at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Glasgow. I went along with my sister Perri and was presented with a certificate which is displayed in the shop.

“I have a lot of regular customers but there has been a lot more interest since the start of the pandemic and I am now fully booked until Christmas.”

Customers can choose from one of ten options including Eyebrow treatment, Semi-permanent Brows and Lip Chin and Lashes.

Misty's previous awards include the Best Brow Artist in Scotland for 2016/17 and 2017/18, the Best Brow Technician in the Scottish Borders in 2019. She was also ranked in the top four for the United Kingdom.

In November 2013 Misty opened her salon on Channel Street, Galashiels and went on to become the first ever person to be trained in Epibrows, a microblading treatment which she has went on to master.

With her success and sheer volume of clients she was forced to move to bigger premises at The Interchange, Galashiels to help cope with the demand with some of her clients travelling from as far away as London and Aberdeen.
