A 25-YEAR-OLD man who admitted driving while almost three times the alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 16 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Owen Campbell, who gave an address in Jedburgh, was involved in an accident at Hunter’s Bridge, Kelso, on December 6 last year.
He had an alcohol/blood reading of 133 millilitres, the legal limit being 50.
The court heard Campbell had to be cut free from the wreckage and was taken to hospital where the blood test was taken.
He was fined £300 and told he could part in the Drink Drivers Rehabilitation Scheme which if completed successfully at his own expense would reduce the length of the ban by 25 per cent.
