Sports presenter Gabby Logan won £64,000 to be distributed between the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and Muscular Dystrophy UK on ITV’s popular ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ programme this week.

After cruising through the early rounds, Gabby, who is married to former Scotland rugby player Kenny Logan secured the £1,000 prize by correctly identifying Danny Boyle’s film ‘Trainspotting’ as having been made in Scotland.

From then the questions became more difficult and she used up her 50/50 lifeline before correctly answering that the Blue Whale’s diet consists of Krill.

She knew that the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground is in Nottingham and that Joss Stone won the 2021 Masked Singer competition then for the £16,000 question she sought the help of host Jeremy Clarkson to confirm that Neville Chamberlain was known for the political catchphrase ‘Peace in our time.’

At that point Gabby decided to set her ‘safety net’ at £32,000 and after phoning a friend she correctly answered that Paddington Bear’s address was 32 Windsor Gardens. Before answering that question she generously agreed to pay the £32,000 to the charities if she was wrong.

The £64,000 question was to name the French artist famous for painting ballerinas particularly dancers of the Paris Opera and she correctly identified Edgar Degas.

The £125,000 question was to name the car model produced in a different country than the other three. At that point she regretted having used already asked the former Top gear presenter who knew the answer. Instead she telephoned a friend but was not confident in answering the question and took the money.

The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was established by Doddie and the Trustees in response to his frustration at the lack of options given to MND sufferers.

The charity has already donated around £8m for targeted MND research projects and are committed to continuing to invest in the most promising research to help find new treatments, gain improved knowledge and ultimately find a cure.
