High Street of Borders town sealed off as emergency services battle nearby fire
THE High Street of a Borders town is currently closed due to a fire at a nearby property.
Firefighters and police officers were called to deal with the blaze in Hawick at around 5.40pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.40pm we were called to a report of a fire at a property on Crown Close, Hawick.
"Officers are currently assisting the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. The High Street is currently closed and we would ask people to avoid the area.”
