BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a man who caused a disturbance at Borders General Hospital.

Nineteen-year-old Ashley Scott pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing and acting in an aggressive manner within the hospital on February 28.

He also admitted pushed a male police officer on the body.

Scott pleaded guilty to a third charge of struggling violently with a female police officer at Hawick Police Station.

Selkirk Sheriff Court was told that Scott, formerly of Longtown but now living in Carlisle, was recovering from an alcohol addiction.

Sentence was deferred until January 5 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report.
