THIS year’s pantomime at the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels has been hailed a huge success.

The ever-popular Dick Whittington show, written by Alan Frayn and performed by the locally based Right Angle Theatre Company, had audiences roaring with laughter from start to finish.

The show ran from Tuesday through to Saturday and was everything you’d come to expect from a traditional panto.

There were many great characters and it was jam-packed with plenty of comical lines, fantastic songs and dance routines.

Dozens of people have taken to social media to offer their congratulations to the cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to bring the show to the Borders.

Producer Gordon Keddie said: “It was a first-class performance which went down well with everyone. We’ve had many good positive comments and the whole thing was very worthwhile. Thursday and Friday night were packed but the audience figures for the other nights were slightly down but that was to be expected due to COVID. But I think everyone that went along enjoyed it and hopefully they will be back next year.”
