MORE than 200 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the Borders in the last 24 hours, the latest figures show.

The Scottish Government published updated statistics at 2pm today (December 30).

And the data shows that the region has now seen 15,340 cases of COVID-19 since March last year – a rise of 202 since yesterday.

There are 30 people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to the figures – six more than yesterday.

Scotland has recorded 983,270 cases since the pandemic began.
