MORE than 150 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the Borders in the last 24 hours, the latest figures show.

The Scottish Government published updated statistics at 2pm today (January 11).

And the data shows that the region has now seen 16,547 cases of COVID-19 since March last year – a rise of 159 since yesterday.

There are 43 people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to the figures – one fewer than yesterday.

The total number of cases in Scotland now stands at 1,067,028.
