MORE than 60 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the Borders in the last 24 hours, the latest figures show.

The Scottish Government published updated statistics at 2pm today (January 14).

And the data shows that the region has now seen 16,746 cases of COVID-19 since March last year – a rise of 64 since yesterday.

There remains 53 people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to the figures.

The total number of cases in Scotland now stands at 1,085,696.
