A BORDERS man who struggled with police constables has been fined £220 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.

Forty-one-year-old Gary Bain, of Hawick, obstructed the officers who turned up at his Burnfoot Road home on February 22 last year requesting access.

A not guilty plea to a charge of assault to injury was accepted by the Crown.

In addition to the fine, Bain was ordered to pay a £20 Victim Surcharge.
