Today (Thursday February 24) will start cold with bright spells and snow showers, some heavy for a time with further accumulations in the morning rush hour where there will be tricky conditions.
The showers will turn more sleety at lower levels this afternoon but it will remain cold and windy. The maximum temperature will be 5 °C.
There will be further wintry showers this evening, some heavy snow showers at first with further accumulations, especially higher ground, then becoming more isolated tonight.
There will be clear spells and some icy stretches. The minimum temperature will be -1 °C.
Tomorrow (Friday) will be a dry day with some good spells of sunshine before becoming cloudier later in the day. A thaw of lying snow will take place. The maximum temperature will be 8 °C.
A yellow weather warning remains in place for the region until 8pm on Thursday evening.
