HOME sales company Property Solvers has tracked average sold price data from HM Land Registry since 2016 to see where the highest and lowest-priced homes are located across a number of towns and cities throughout the UK.
Included in their research is the TD1 postcode area which covers Galashiels and the surrounding area.
The criteria was that at least three houses had to have been sold in the street concerned to qualify.
The research found that the most expensive street in the TD1 area was Abbotsford Road (Galashiels) where five house have sold for an average of £595,794.
Other findings are as follow.
Three houses in Craigmyle Park (Clovenfords) sold for an average of £386,666.
Three houses in Whytpark Farm Cottages sold for an average of £370.454.
Three houses in Windyknowe Road (Galashiels) sold for an average of £357,166.
Three houses in Barr Road (Galashiels) sold for an average of £321,666.
Three houses in Bowland Road (Galashiels) sold for an average of £311,666.
Seven houses in Valley View, (Clovenfords) sold for an average of £306,000.
Three houses in Parsonage Road (Galashiels) sold for an average of £300,333.
Five houses in Hayward Drive (Galashiels) sold for an average of £295,026
Five houses in Nether Blainslie sold for an average of £289.223.
In Glendinning Terrace (Galashiels) three houses sold for an average of £28,333.
Four houses sold in East Mill, Bridge Street (Galashiels) for an average of £45,575
Ten houses sold in King Street (Galashiels) for an average of £48,150
Seven houses sold in St. Andrew Street (Galashiels) for an average of £49,285
Ten houses sold in Scott Street (Galashiels) for an average of £51,383
Three houses sold in Stirling Street (Galashiels) for an average of £51,666
Four houses sold in Island Street (Galashiels) for an average of £51,874
Four houses sold in High Buckholmside (Galashiels) for an average of £52,999
Five houses in St. Andrew Street (Galashiels) sold for an average of £53,000
Three houses in the High Street (Galashiels) sold for an average of £53,333
Commenting on the data, Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.”
“It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Galashiels sold for £915,070 and at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £36,500 and under on Kilnknowe Place Marmion Road and Greenbank Street he concludes.
