A DECISION on whether a Lidl store will be built in Tweedbank has been delayed.
The local authority's planning and building standards committee met today (March 7) to discuss the proposed development.
Scottish Borders Council planning chiefs had told elected members to refuse the development at the Borders Gateway site ahead of the virtual gathering.

But after a lengthy adjournment the committee decided to continue the application to allow for further discussion to resolve landscaping issues.
The motion – proposed by Kelso councillor Simon Mountford who was chairing the meeting – was seconded by Mid Berwickshire representative Donald Moffat.
The decision means that the Lidl plans will go ahead if an agreement can be made between developers Manor Place Developments and council officers.
It will only be put back in front of the planning committee if there is no resolution, the meeting heard.
