POLICE are looking to trace a dog owner after a lamb was reportedly killed in the Borders.

The incident happened on farmland near Chirnside between March 5-6, according to officers.

Two dark coloured dogs – possibly labrador and lurcher types – were seen running loose in the area.

And police are looking to identify the owner of the dogs, as well as appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Police on 101 and quote incident 1005 of 09/03/2022.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
