NHS Borders has confirmed that the Covid-19 testing site at Langlee Community Centre in Galashiels will still close at the end of this month despite the current increase in new cases.
PCR tests will still be available however via a Mobile Testing Unit, which will circulate around the Scottish Borders and tests can also be ordered online.
A spokesperson said: "The UK Government operated testing facility at Langlee Community Centre will last be in operation on March 31, 2022.
“Locally PCR tests will continue to be available via a Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) which circulates between three main sites in the Borders to give equitable geographic coverage across the region.
"In addition to this the MTU may provide testing elsewhere if it is deemed necessary due to an outbreak or other exceptional circumstances.
“PCR tests can still be obtained through home delivery by ordering online or calling 119. This provision is in line with Scottish Government Coronavirus (COVID-19): Test and Protect transition plan.”
