BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a 28-year-old man who admitted driving while disqualified and more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
Ryan Bell pleaded guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court to the offences which happened in the town's Bannerfield Drive and Bridge Street on May 8 last year.
He was found to have a breath/alcohol count of 68 microgrammes – the legal limit being 22.

The court heard that Bell had previous convictions for driving while disqualified and served a seven-month prison sentence although that post-dated the Selkirk offence. He had also been banned from driving for 51 months in 2021.
Sheriff Peter Paterson imposed an interim disqualification and deferred sentence for a Criminal Justice Social Work Report "to see if there was an alternative to a prison sentence".
Bell, of Durham, will be sentenced on April 19.
