AN HISTORIC Borders building has been damaged following a fire.

Emergency services attended the scene at the Well House, Jedburgh in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Flames reportedly spread to the building from a motorbike.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.56am on Saturday (April 2) to reports of a fire affecting a motorbike and building in Waterside Road, Jedburgh.

“Operations control immediately mobilised two fire engines to the location and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
