A 61-YEAR-OLD man who admitted driving in the Borders while almost double the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 12 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Robert Laidlaw of West Leas, Bonchester, pleaded guilty to driving with a breath/alcohol count of 43 microgrammes – the legal limit being 22.
The offence happened in Weensland Road in Hawick on July 8 last year.
Laidlaw was also fined £500 with a £20 Victim Surcharge.
