POLICE in the Scottish Borders are encouraging motorcyclists to attend the Borders Group of Advanced Motorcyclists and Motorists open day at Hawick Police Station this Sunday April 24 2022 between 10am and 2pm.
In partnership with colleagues from Scottish Ambulance and Fire Service and the charity Drivewise, the day looks to enhance the skills and knowledge of motorcyclists across the Borders and to raise awareness of the further advanced training available to make them safer, more competent riders.
Inspector Stephen Quinn, of Police Scotland's Road Policing unit said: “This is a great event for motorcyclists to get involved in and one that will help benefit the riders and everyone on our roads.
“We are committed to reducing fatal and serious injury road collisions in our area and advanced training is a great way of equipping riders and drivers with the skills and techniques required to help make our roads as safe as possible.
“There will also be an opportunity to speak to Ian Dalgleish, from the charity Drivewise who provide Borderers, aged 17 to 25, with fully funded advanced driver training.”
