A SWIMMING pool in the Borders has been forced to close following an “incident involving glass”.
The pool at Teviotdale Leisure Centre has now been fully drained and cleared of debris, according to a Live Borders spokesperson.
All other facilities at the site including the gym, soft play, fitness classes and café are all operating as normal.
It had initially been estimated that the pool would be shut for up to three weeks.

But in an update on Tuesday (April 25), the spokesperson said that staff are “working hard to reopen earlier than first anticipated”.
They said: “The pool has been drained and all debris very carefully removed. We have also taken the opportunity to make some minor repairs to the pool area.
“The pool is now being refilled, and will take some time to be returned to temperature.
“While we are working hard to reopen earlier than first anticipated, we will keep you updated on progress.
“Thank you again for your patience and understanding; and thank you to all our staff for working so hard these last days.”
