AN AUTHOR who grew up in the Peebles, but now lives near Venice in Italy, is coming home for her first book signing event.

Nadia Wong, 53, wrote and published her first four books during the course of the coronavirus pandemic.

The life coach, who has lived in Italy for 21 years, explained that now feels like the right time to have an in-person event.

She said: "I've not been home at all since I published the books so that's exciting.

"I don't think I was ready to come and do signings.

"As much as I love writing, I love my work, I'm quite an introvert.

"I'm absolutely ready [for the book signing] now, I have no fear because I believe in my work."

To be held at Whitie's in Peebles on Saturday, May 7 from 11.30am to 1pm, Nadia will be around the shop to sign books and to speak with readers.

Since 2020 Nadia released four books – The Key to a Happier Me, My Life My Legacy, Your Life Your Legacy, and My Growing Heart.

People can also pre-order books from Whitie's which Nadia will then sign on the Saturday.

As well as the book signing, Nadia will also be running two additional events in Peebles.

The emotional well being workshops will see Nadia share her skills as a coach and guide, and will walk those taking part through a workbook to help them gain clarity about their emotions.

"I know there are so many people suffering," said Nadia. "I speak to my friends, they've got friends of friends, and they have kids that are suffering with fear and anxiety.

"I do soul work. Traditional life coaching you take a measure of where you are now, decide you set goals together, and move towards them.

"But what I discovered in my work is that you can build this life, and it doesn't matter how successful you are, your inner world is not stable.

"I help people to know who they really are.

"[The workshop] is not going to change their life, I can't do that in an afternoon, but what it will do is introduce them to my work and introduce them to the power they have over their life."

The Love is Always the Answer workshops will be held at The Cross Keys Wetherspoons in Peebles on Wednesday, May 11 at 12.30-3pm and on Saturday, May 14 at 2-4.30pm.
