A 47-YEAR-OLD man who drunkenly lashed out at a parked van has been fined £200 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Barry Hogg pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and striking the window of a motor vehicle in Jedburgh's Forthill terrace on December 17.
Depute fiscal Alasdair Fay said the accused had been drinking in a public house and at around 11.30pm he was spotted striking the window of a van with a clenched fist and also his elbow.
He was challenged by a bystander and kept hitting the van and police were called.
Defence lawyer Mat Patrick said: "He is utterly bemused when he behaved in this way. He was heavily intoxicated and does not even know why he was there."
